So , here we go!! I am finally getting organised and feel ready to start blogging again :-) Feel free to ignore me if you so wish!
Where do i start??? So much is happening in SWAT at the moment. Very exciting news is SWAT Boot Camp - I can not wait til June! It will be so much fun and I am excited about how fast it is filling up. There are lots of different workshops to choose from and they are aimed at pups right up to Champ dogs, so something for everyone. If you are interested please get in touch fast! Prices start at £80 for the whole weekend so a bargain - and training in the middle of the competitive season - perfect!
I have started back teaching some workshops and this week was my first Weds night groups and i loved it! It was lovely to see everyone and also to see how much they had improved since i saw them in September. I am now planning my return to teaching one to ones - much more complicated to organise as it involves external childcare for Adam, but April 16th is the date i have set. I will be doing less hours but I can't wait to see my clients again.
I am also starting to get excited about this years competition season as i have finally managed to do a couple of training sessions with Maid and Raq. I am taking things slowly, they are only jumping medium height until I am sure they are fit enough to do large - It won't be long but I am determined to be careful. I am also determined that Maid will NOT be competing until I have cured her weave issue that arose last year after her ear infection. She is making progress so fingers crossed we will be in the ring soon enough. However I am also aware that poor Maid has to come out in G4 and she is not ready for tricky course as she simply hasn't had enough training. This year I hope to be able to put in the hours to get her up to speed.
Because of that Glee will not be making her debut this season. She has done virtually nothing yet - a few poles on the floor and thats it. Once Maid and Raq are up to fitness and speed I hope to start doing more with Glee - but she is not my priority this year.
Kye is still pottering along - more senile than ever and totally deaf so extendable lead for him now! And Boo will still be competing - she is as fit and supple as ever despite being 10. So her and Daz have a few more runs together to go...
And us Humans??? We are good - infact we are great! We are tired, rushing around manically, all the normal stuff of family life but we feel very very blessed to have our little family completed with Adam. He is such a happy contented baby and he smiles and laughs all the time. He can't contain himself when Lily gets home from school or Daz arrives in from work - its lovely to watch. And Lily adores him. She is such a caring little girl. As i said we are very blessed and we keep pinching ourselves!
So bring it on 2013 - I think there will be some hard times this year - but us Keatings will face whatever is thrown at us together - and I am very proud to be able to say that!!
PS - we now have a public facebook [age so check us out - SWAT dogs.
